Kelsey Smith is a writer at the University of Texas at Austin. Storytelling has always been a deep part of her whether it is writing about fantastical lands far away or close to home. When she isn’t watching a Harry Potter movie, she is daydreaming about her next story or rocking out to 80s music in the car.

Emma Breckwoldt is a writer at the University of Texas at Austin. She has been writing stories for as long as she can remember and is excited to be the production manager this year with Prickly. When not writing, you can find Emma playing any sport she can or rewatching Friends for the 1000th time. 

Sarah Cheng is a digital artist and 2D animator at the University of Texas at Austin. Having a passion for creating art and the possibilities it can bring, she strives to create art that inspires others or can brighten their day. Nicholas is a writer at the University of Texas at Austin who enjoys writing literary and genre fiction, as well as poetry and essays. When he isn't writing, he loves running, biking, hiking, comedy and board/video gaming.

Laura Gonima is a graphic designer double majoring in design and advertising at the University of Texas at Austin.  After a childhood of making houses out of mud for fairies, Laura has graduated into making animations, scripts, and graphics for clients. When she’s not tinkering with ideas and images, Laura can be found appreciating nature, museums, and terrible movies. 

Dylan Hook is a 3rd year English major who wants to use writing to help disentangle his identity from all the boxes American life puts people in. He is heavily influenced by stories like the Coen Brother’s Raising Arizona and Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman. He is a professional bad driver and spends what free time he has playing fighting games with his roommates.

Victoria Renteria is an Arts and Entertainment major at the University of Texas at Austin. She has been drawing and making art for as long as she could remember. Her career goals are to become an animator at Disney animation studios. Aside from drawing, her hobbies include hiking and watching animated movies such as Disney and Studio Ghibli.

Jessica Liu is a CS major with a love for animation and art. She has a deep appreciation for writing and music and tries to capture the feelings she gets from them in her artwork. Outside of school, she loves to read comics and watch horror movies.

Katrina Aliashkevich is a digital artist and animator at the University of Texas at Austin. She is majoring in AET (Arts and Entertainment Technologies) and her artwork can be found on instagram @art.by.katrinaa . Katrina was born in Europe, Belarus and moved to America to pursue a career in the digital arts industry. Her style will make you see art from a different perspective through her use of vibrant colors and psychedelic imagery.

Nikki Pathapati is a writer at the University of Texas at Austin. She has been passionate about writing stories since she first began reading fantasy novels in middle school and is excited to write with Prickly. When she isn’t writing, she is binge watching movies and TV shows on Netflix.

Ingrid Piña is a writer at the University of Texas at Austin. A particular fan of poetry, Ingrid also loves filmmaking. When not creating, you can find Ingrid learning languages, hiking and dancing.

Jenny Pham is a fiction writer at the University of Texas. She enjoys writing romance and mystery. Prickly Magazine is going to be the first platform where Jenny showcases her work to the world. She’s nervous but excited. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music, watching movies, and stationary.

Kim Ly is a writer and artist graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2021. Her writing has been published on Spark and sparkmagazinetx.com and cdftexas.org. When she isn’t working, you can find her forcing friends to watch Fleabag over and over.
